TUITION SOLUTION – Terms and Conditions

Welcome to TUITION SOLUTION (hereinafter referred to as “the Agency”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Founded in 2014, we are a leading home tuition agency in Singapore. By accessing our website and engaging our services—whether as a Parent/Client or a Tutor—you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.

1. General Overview

1.1. These Terms manage your usage of the TUITION SOLUTION website and all accompanying services.

1.2. By using our service, you represent that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age. Users under 18 must obtain parental or guardian consent to engage our services.

1.3. Our FAQs for Parents and FAQs for Tutors pages are incorporated into these Terms. In the event of a conflict, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

2. Commission & Financial Matters

2.1. Currency: All rates are in Singapore Dollars (SGD).

2.2. Agency Commission: Our standard commission is 50% of the tuition fees for the first four weeks of active lessons. This is a one-time fee per successful match.

2.3. Payment Collection: In most cases, the Agency collects the commission directly from the Client (Parent). Tutors shall not collect the Agency’s portion of the fee unless specifically authorized in writing.

2.4. Non-Payment: TUITION SOLUTION reserves the right to take legal action against any party for outstanding payments. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Filing a claim with the Small Claims Tribunals (State Courts of Singapore).
  • Lodging a police report for fraudulent conduct.
  • Engaging professional debt recovery services.
  • The debtor shall be liable for all administrative and legal costs incurred during recovery.

3. Cancellation & Postponement Policy

3.1. Trial Lessons: There are no “free” trial lessons. All lessons conducted must be paid for.

3.2. Commitment: Upon tutor confirmation, there is an expectation of at least four weeks of commitment.

3.3. Short-Notice Cancellation: If a Client cancels or postpones a lesson less than three (3) hours before the start time, the Client shall be liable to pay 50% of the lesson fee as compensation for the tutor’s lost time and transport costs.

3.4. Tutor Cancellations: Tutors must provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any postponement. Frequent last-minute cancellations will lead to immediate termination and blacklisting from our database.

4. Working Relationship & Code of Conduct

4.1. Independent Contractor Status: Tutors are independent contractors and are not employees of TUITION SOLUTION. The Agency is not responsible for the tutor’s tax/CPF contributions or their personal conduct.

4.2. Verification: While the Agency performs due diligence on tutor profiles, Clients are encouraged to verify the physical certificates of the tutor during the first lesson.

4.3. Professionalism: Tutors must maintain the highest standards of ethics. Physical, verbal, or mental abuse of students is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the Singapore Police Force if necessary.

4.4. Supervision: For students under 18, a parent or guardian is strongly encouraged to be present in the home during the tuition session.

5. Privacy, DNC, and Data Protection

5.1. PDPA Compliance: TUITION SOLUTION complies with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We collect your personal data solely for the purpose of tutor-matching and administrative communication.

5.2. DNC Registry: By registering with us, you provide “clear and unambiguous” consent to receive tuition-related alerts via SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, or Phone Call, notwithstanding any registration with the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry.

5.3. Opt-Out: You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing our Data Protection Officer at [Your Email Address].

6. Anti-Circumvention Rule

6.1. Clients and Tutors shall not engage in private arrangements to bypass the Agency’s commission.

6.2. Any attempt to “go private” to avoid the agency fee will result in both parties being held liable for the full commission plus an administrative penalty of $500. We also reserve the right to share details of such misconduct with other agencies in Singapore.

7. Intellectual Property & Copyright

7.1. All content on this website is the property of TUITION SOLUTION © 2014–2025.

7.2. Unauthorized redistribution or reproduction of any part of this website for commercial use is strictly prohibited.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1. TUITION SOLUTION acts as a matching service. We are not liable for any disputes, damages, or losses arising from the personal relationship between the Tutor and the Client.

9. Modifications

9.1. TUITION SOLUTION reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
